After class reflection 9

We watched Mr. Been video. It was so funny that I couldn't help explain without laughing.
After that, we learned about what the West countries people do during Christmas. It seems to be happy event.
Then, we listened "Last Christmas". I didn't know that there were such a many version. Every singer  was good.

We include a lot of information in our presentation.

points about your presentation?
The order of the graph was not easy to understand for audience. I didn't think much about the relation among the questions.
3.What will you change when you video
your presentation?
I want to see the audiences speak without a memo.
4.What changes will you make to your poster?
I want to change the order of the graph and choose the graph which I think important or interesting.

Our class was held in computer room. We recorded our presentation and looked our friends' ipad presentations. It was hard for me to reduce my presentation within three minutes because there were much information to talk about.

We tallied the number of our answers of survey.
Our topic is mobile phones and computers. I felt interesting to count the number because each of our result was different and some result was different from my expectation. This was very interesting survey for me.
After that, we thought about the format of the paper and chart. We will draw a lot of chart in the paper.

We gave presentations each other. The topic was about cities. Everyone in my class examined about their topic well. Some of the presentations included information which I didn't know. So, I really enjoyed watching their presentations. 
I looked into Las Vegas. When I did a searched about there, there was information which I didn't know. It was also interesting.

First, we talked about our friends. Everyone had various friends. There were friends who is always late and likes to drink in our class. The former is Ayumi and the latter is Mai Ikematsu.
Then, we described a picture each other. Ayako, Natsumi, and I were in a group. It was difficult to explain the picture in detail. But I felt interesting to see a picture after a description.
Also, we talk about our group presentation. We have to interview with 100 students in PUK. It will be very hard work.

Introduction of a man

His name is Jack. He is my husband. He works as a newspaper reporter. I met him at a party of a mutual friend of ours. He goes all over the world. He always wakes up early in quest of a big scoop, so he is always with bedhead. He is kind to me and our children. He helps me with doing housework in spite of his busy work. Also he plays with our children after his work or on his holiday. As a husband or as a father, he is a very good man.

We talked about ourselves each other. 
I couldn't find a friend who has a black belt, has never ridden on a Shinkansen and likes to drink Japanese sake in this class. I want to know if there is.
I was surprised to find a classmate who doesn't like natto. She dislike natto because of its bad smell.
There were many people who have ever been to the U.K. in this class.
We also talk about our group presentation. Our topic is mobile phones and computers. It is difficult to connect these things and think questions.

We talked about restaurants. 
Some students had favorite restaurants but some students don't go for a long time because she usually cooks at home. I thought that Joyfull was the most popular restaurants in this class.
Also we talked about a group presentation. 
Our topic is mobile phones and computers. There are many people who uses smart phones, so we think this topic is good to research.

Responses for ipad presentation

Many people said that my presentation is easy to understand but some of my classmates thought that I should explain about my country or my family more in my presentation. If I write the explanation in detail, my presentation will be better. Especially, I should add information in fourth slide. 

Some classmates said my presentation was good because there were many pictures and the pictures are funny but there were some students who thought that I should add some information by pictures more.

Also there were comments like "my presentation was quite simple because of the background picture." and "While I give a presentation, I should look at the audience."

After class reflection 1

First, we provided advices on various problems to each other. 
It was difficult to think solutions of classmates' troubles because sometimes I had the same trouble as theirs.
Second, we gave a presentation about myself  of setup condition in this class by using an ipad.
Presentations of everyone were very nice and interesting. Some of them used an ipad very well and the presentations were easy to understand.
I thought that I should have added letters more in my slide because only my explain by parol, it is hard to understand. 
Every one's presentations were done a search very well, so they were so interesting.

BR12 Princess Polly and the pony

"Being a princess is boring," said Princess Polly. (p. 5)


I like Princess Polly because even if she is a princess, she is very active and natural. Also she is honest with herself and she did what she wanted to do even if it was not allowed to do by her parents. For her parents, she might be a trouble, but I like her character.

We talked about favorites. I was interested in what the other students like.

The topic was parts of the body. It was interesting that there was many expressions of injuries.

We talked about hobbies and sports. I thought that they were active and enjoying their college life.

We talked about our rooms. I felt difficult to explain something in English.

The topic was fashion. I was surprised that some students wore kimono recently.

The topic was about our family. I felt difficult to explain my relatives because I didn't see their accent well.

Number

6 is the number of years I was in girls' school. I went to Kumamoto Shin-ai girls' junior high school and Daiich high school.
3 is the number of kinds I took after-school lessons. First, I learned organ and piano. When I entered an elementary school, I started to learn swimming. And then I began going abacus school.
2 is the number of years between my older sister and I. She is also a university student.
2004 is the number which birth date are added. My birthday is 1992, 2,10.
45 is the time I come to school from my house.

BR11 The burglar's breakfast

Alfie Briggs was a burglar. But he wasn't a good one.(P.3)

Although he was a burglar, I thought he was a kind burglar because he knew how people felt when they had stolen and he clean up his act. And I like him because he became a detective using his good points which were found by being robbed. And I was glad since he cut his ties with a burglar.

BR10 The runaway pancake

But the pancake didn't want to be eaten. It jumped right out of the pan and rolled out of the door. (p.7)


I thought that this story was similar to the song of "Oyoge Taiyaki kun". It was funny because not only people but also animals were running only to catch this pancake. Also, I felt interesting that the pancake didn't want to be eaten. But I felt little sad because the pancake was eaten easily by a shifty pig in the end.

I like him because he was scare too easily. It was funny because Stanley, Scaredy Cat, was even afraid of mice though he was a cat. But one day, he got over his cowardice. He wasn't afraid of anything, so I felt little lonely. However it was good that he wasn't called a scaredy cat ever again.

BR8 The fish that talked

The fish sparkled with a silvery light. (p.6)

I wish there were the fish that talked  because I had goldfish, so if there were talking fish, I thought that it was very interesting.
I was surprised that the fish turned out a powerful god. This story has its setting in India. Therefore, it was the Hindu god. 
I also thought that suppose Manu hadn't help the fish.

BR7 Hansel & Gretel

The walls were made from chunks of cake and the roof was glistening chocolate.(p. 30)


I knew about this story a little. But I didn't know a whole story, so I read it.
I thought Hansel and Gretel were clever and strong children. They were bullied by their stepmother and got dumped. However, they beat their brain and they could survive. I thought both of them were very courageous because they survived by themselves. 
Finally, it was good that they could eat feast every night and live with their father.

BR6 Romeo & Juliet

He had spotted a beautiful girl in a pink and cream dress and he couldn't take his eyes off her. (p.14)


I chose this book because I am studying about Shakespeare, so I am interested in his productions. I almost knew the content of Romeo&Juliet. But I read this book for the first time, and I know this story in detail. Finally, both Romeo and Juliet died, but Montague and Capulet heal relationships and Romeo and Juliet were buried side by side. I didn't know this last scene.

BR5 The berenstain bears' seashore treasure

It says this place used to be called Pirates Cove! (p.11)


I chose this book because I like bears. This family of bears is very cute and they get along well. I thought it was very nice that Papa Bear had a leadership to hunt for treasure. Finally, they couldn't find a treasure, but Papa left the treasure map for next Papa because the map was interesting and good for communicating with children. I like this last scene.

Best friend

I interviewed Hitomi. Her best friend's hair is brown and has a permanent. Her eyes are brown. She has a small mouth.

When she laughs, she usually put her hand on her mouth.

Her good point is that she is loved by everyone. She likes to play with them. And she is popular among old people.

When they are elementary school students, they went home every day. Their memorable experience is that they made a secret base, when they were six years old.

 

I listened to Makiko's report. She interviewed Kimika. Makiko says that Kimika's best friend's is Natsumi. She is light-skinned and she has big eyes. Her hair is brown color and shoulder length. And she is tall.

I heard that she likes to riding a car and listening to K-pop music.

Her good points are kind and she laughs and smiles quite a bit. She is a healing person.

They met in the same department at this university. Their memorable experience is staying at their friend's home together. 

BR4 How elephants lost their wings

Once upon a time, elephants could fly. (p. 4)


I chose this book because the title was attractive to me. This title created my interest. The story of this book is different from what I imagined. I imaged that elephants have warm personalities but in fact, the elephants in this book are selfish and noisy. And it was also interesting that the two gods in this book are similar to Avatar.

BR3 Ghosts!

What is that behind you? (p. 12)

This book consists of seven stories of ghosts. My favorite story in this book is "Susie". This is a story of cats. And I like "The teeny-tiny woman", too. This is a funny story. The ghost in this story wanted an artificial tooth. Most stories in this book are not scary but funny in spite of ghostly stories.

My favorite animal

My favorite animal is bears. Because I like  the Disney character Winnie the Pooh and Kumamon. I like Winnie the Pooh the best in the Disney character. Kumamon is the character of Kumamoto. It is usually called "yuru chara" in Japanese. I have some goods of these characters. I don't like real bears so much because they look scary. But both of these bears make me happy because they are very cute. So I like bears the best.

My treasure

My treasure is a costume that I wore at a sports festival when I was a high school student. I didn’t like dancing so much, but because of a lack of members, I had to join the team as a dancer. There were a lot of lessons every day. Even during the Golden Week, I had to go to school to practice dancing almost every day. I had to practice harder than other members because I was not good at dancing and in addition, I couldn’t remember the dance. I spent very hard days until the sports festival. My treasure is a costume which I wore while I danced in the sports festival. The costumes are made by hand. Usually mothers make them. Also in my case, my mother made my costume for me. Because there was only a few days until the contest, she sat up late at night making it and I helped it in places. Dancing was very difficult, however, making a costume is as difficult as dancing. Thanks to cooperation of mothers, eventhough, there was a lot of trouble, but the real performance was a huge success.

Even though I made a half-hearted attempt to practice dancing, but in the end, I thought that I did well just to join the team because I gained a sense of accomplishment with comrades. Thanks to this event, I could build a bond with the other members. And after the festival, some members acknowledge my efforts as a group. I keep it close to my heart. This sports festival is one of my big events during high school. Unfortunately, I didn’t get better at dancing, but I had a great experience by joining the team. The costume reminds me of the hard and good days. Sometimes I look at it to brace myself. Therefore, the costume is my treasure.

This book contains many funny stories. My favorite story in this book is "The journey". I like it because the content is funny but I was little impressed when the boy finally met his mother. And the last words which the mother said made me laugh.

A letter to my host family

Dear host family,

Hello. My name is Misato I. I live in Kumamoto, Japan. I am 19 years old and I am a university student who is majoring in English language and literature at the Prefectural University of Kumamoto. I decided to go to Australia this summer because I want to learn English more and know about Australian culture. In addition, I want to speak English fluently with native English speakers, so I want to talk with you a lot about Australia and Japan. I will stay with you for six weeks this summer. This stay is my first time to go abroad, so I am very excited. Of course, I have never been to Australia. I have wanted to go to Australia for a long time because I am interested in countries in the Southern Hemisphere, which have the opposite seasons to Japan. And in Australia, there are a lot of natural beauty and animals which I can’t see in Japan. And my hobby is swimming, so if I have a chance, I want to swim in the beautiful sea in Australia. How many people are there in your family?

My family is consists of five members. There are my mother, my older sister, my grandmother and my grandfather and me. My sister is two years older than I. She is a university student, too.

I don’t have any pets now. But I once had some goldfish. I also like animals, so if you have some pets, you don’t have to worry about my allergies.

BR1 Uncle elephant

I heard my door opening. "Hello, I am your Uncle Elephant," said a voice. (p.8)

This book is a story of an elephant boy and uncle elephant. They spend time together because the elephant boy's parents are missing because of a storm. But the boy elephant is happy thanks to his uncle. 

My favorite scene was the uncle tried to put a smile on the elephant boy's face when he felt sad because he remembered his parents. This scene produced warm reaction.

I interviewed Yuka. She introduced her second cousin.
Her name is Haruka. Yuka’s father and Haruka’s mother are cousins.
 Haruka is 19 years old and she is as same as Yuka. She is from Kumamoto.
She is a university student. She goes to university of education in Osaka, so she lives in Osaka now.
Her appearances are cute, small, and slender. Her personalities are cheerful, powerful, and kind.
